Serene, Glorious Morning
Morning
The serene, glorious morning
Is broken
By the roar of a car engine.
Beleaguered and disillusioned
The working lady
Powerwalks towards the train station.
The bread has risen
At the baker’s shop
But he hasn’t risen fully yet.
Murmured groans
Echo
Around the bus stop.
The sky is still black
While we are all on our feet
The blackbird is snuggled cozy in his nest.
